As I continue on the road back to prominence, and establish myself at this latest job of mine, I look forward to seeing what the future has to offer. I'll make this comeback, and what lies beyond it, a time to truly remember!
Tonight was a truly magnificent time. I didn't drink. I didn't go clubbing at all. I didn't do anything wild. I didn't get laid. Not to say that it's good or bad that these things didn't happen. Had they happened to me, I would've been delighted. For they are all pleasurable experiences that I could rarely ever turn down! The fact remains, none of those things happened tonight.
That's not a bad thing though. I did, however, hang out with some terrific friends of mine. That was a really pleasurable experience as well as a major step up from what I've been doing for the past four weeks! About an hour after getting home from work, I received a call from Colleen. She called me, but I missed her call because my phone was set on silent. Apparently, Scott and Raphael also attempted to call me.
I called Colleen back, but I got her voicemail. I called Raphael back, and Colleen picked up on his line. She told me that she was at the Target by my house, shopping for graduate school supplies with Raph, and asked if I cared to join them. I hadn't seen them in a while, so sure enough I drove to Target to meet up with them. It was wonderful seeing them again. As you know, I was unable to attend Crazy Mike's last get together the previous weekend, so I've really been out of the loop for quite sometime.
Tonight, I felt, was a step in the right direction of gaining a foothold in getting back into the loop. After shopping at Target, Colleen wanted to purchase some makeup, so we went to the beauty supply store right next to the Dicks Sporting Goods. Afterwards, we went to Travelers Diner for a bite to eat. I ordered Strawberry Cheesecake. Raphael ordered the same. Colleen ordered mozzarella gravy fries, at which point I educated her as to the name of that delicacy up in Canada. Poutine! She didn't know that, but it sparked quite a reaction from her, I assure you. She also offered Raph and I some of her fries, implying that we may eat off her dish if we chose to do so. Obviously, she was joking around. LOL.
When we were done with our meals, I offered to pay with my card, but Raph wouldn't have any part of it. He told me, "Don't worry about it. I got you covered; we haven't seen you in a while. Even though the cheesecake and coffee was cheap, that was a very nice gesture on Raph's part. Both he and Colleen are great people and I was thrilled to be able to hang out with them tonight. It was a sensational time, this being the first Friday night in WEEKS that I was able to go out AT ALL and actually do something and see people. It felt lovely, but this is just the beginning!
Tomorrow, I look forward to going with best friend Billy D to that beer pong tournament. Supposedly most of the heads from his workplace are going to be at the party. Shit, his boss is the one throwing the party! I'm glad I got an invite and look forward to attending this event.
I would also like to wish best friend Scott Davies and his wife Liezl a safe trip across the country on their move to Las Vegas, NV. Recently, Liezl got a job out in Las Vegas and that has prompted a move on their part from Miami to Vegas. Scott is thrilled to death because he will be able to continue his ventures as a casino poker player in the biggest casino gaming city in the United States. It doesn't get any bigger than Las Vegas when it comes to poker and gambling!
Hopefully, come the New Year when I have some personal paid vacation days stacked up, I'll be able to fly out to Vegas to visit Scott and Liezl at their new pad. I've never been to Vegas, or any place on the West Coast for that matter, in my entire life. I'm 26 years old ladies and gentlemen, almost 27. The time has come for yours truly to explore some different geographical locations. With the job I have right now, and the excellent progress I am making at this job, these future plans of traveling may soon come to fruition. As I continue on the road back to prominence, and establish myself at this latest job of mine, I look forward to seeing what the future has to offer. I'll make this comeback, and what lies beyond it, a time to truly remember!
The rainstorm is gradually subsiding now, and the sun is beginning to come out. I felt that tonight, when I had the opportunity to hang out with a couple friends of mine for the first time in almost a MONTH. I still feel it, with the party coming up tomorrow that I will be attending with Bill. I'm coming back, my family, friends, and fans. I'm coming back with a BANG.
